THE PROCESS OF DETOXIFICATION

Within the framework of oxidation and reduction, or cell respiration, detoxification is actually a part of the third cell function. Detoxification provides for the means in order to remove or get rid of foreign materials that the cell cannot use, including the end products of cell metabolism, or any excess intake of nutrients.

THE DETOXIFICATION CYCLE

Detoxification in the body takes advantage of that time in which it has little or no food to digest. Usually, this is the period of fasting between the last meal of the day, overnight while sleeping, and the next morning if no food is taken or if fruits are taken with nothing else.

Fruits are an exception in comparison to food at this point because there chief effect is in DETOXIFICATION rather than supplying proteins. Fruits do not take the body off of the fasting cycle.

When we take into the body harmful substances, especially strong acidic substances, or heavy concentrates, the alimentary canal acts in a very protective manner to stop itself from absorbing those harmful materials into the bloodstream (via the intestinal walls).

As we continue, you will see how these harmful substances are trapped, but at the same time, preventing future assimilation. You will also understand how, in the healing process, an inflammatory stage may re-appear with much the same symptoms when you were collecting these harmful substances previously.

The process called "osmosis" governs the substance that the instestinal walls will absorb into the bloodstream.

This is a most important step because the next place of travel will be into the liver for further processing. The amount of absorption into the intestinal walls will depend upon the nutritional substances that were pre-digested properly by the stomach, the intestinal juices, and the secretions of the liver bile and pancreatic juices.

This process can be curtailed by any harmful substance, or by a concentrated acidic material that is taken into the body (such as a toxic drug). The toxic substance may be so concentrated that it can produce inflammation of the intestinal wall, thereby causing the toxic substance to enter the bloodstream. Then it travels to the liver causing injury to this gland.

To prevent a repetition from occuring again at the site of the intestinal wall, the body will be summoned to produce a layer of MUCOUS around that area in order to contain any toxins present and to prevent any further harm in this INFLAMMED AREA. In doing so, that part of the intestinal wall will be closed off from absorbing any future nutrition thereby reducing the intestinal EFFICIENCY and its usefulness as a digestive organ. Until some action is taken to SAFELY remove the harmful substances out of the body, that mucous layer will remain.

To accomplish this removal process, 3 steps must be taken. Also in this process, one step needs to IMMEDIATELY follow the last. These are as follows:

1. The mucous layer that was formed during the protective stage needs to be dissolved.

2. The harmful substance that was contained within the mucous layer must be neutralized so that it cannot produce further inflammation and harm to the body.

3. This neutralized substance must travel out of the body by the FASTEST and SHORTEST route that is possible.

The first two steps are accomplished by first neutralizing the excess acidic build-up with fruits that are high in potassium and alkalizing properties. When the mucous layers in the intestinal tract are dissolved by the effect of the fruits, the high ALKALINITY of the juice can neutralize the toxic ACIDS that were contained by the mucous previously. At this point the body is safeguarded from future harm while the next step is in motion.

Now that the mucous is dissolved and the toxic acids are neutralized, they are ready for their journey out of the body. If the liver is weak and its bile secretions cannot produce a sufficient amount of peristalsis at this time (movement or contractions of the intestines in order to produce a bowel movement). The various types of enemas that are described in the book "Starting and Testing the Healing Process" can complete the job of eliminating the mucous and acid toxins out of the body.

This RAPID elimination is an important step. If this type of elimination is too slow when it does take place, another toxic inflammation can occur anywhere along the way out of the body! If this does re-occur, the whole process that has taken place in the beginning of this toxic inflammatory cycle may start another cycle of mucous containment as described previously.

After step #1, when the mucous is dissolving and when the acid toxins are "re-exposed" to the intestinal wall, an individual may also re-experience the symptoms of the original distress that he experienced during the time of the first disturbance. Many times, the memory is re-jogged to recall the circumstances and the situations present at this time. You may remember doing a certain thing, or listening to a certain song, or watching a certain TV program, etc.

If you do, at this time, feel an isolated distress along with an instantaneous memory recall, your body may be signalling you that a toxic elimination is taking place, and that you need to remove any toxic materials out of the body with the fastest method possible. The enemas that are described later can reduce this stress upon the body so that you may have very little discomfort while this process is taking place.

Also, the enemas are most effective in removing the mucous buildup and the toxins. Now is also the time to take the profile readings. You may notice that the temperature-pulse differential readings are showing more of a spread into the higher plus numbers after the enema!

When the temperature-pulse differential readings rise above +20 as described in the book "Starting and Testing the Healing Process," the enemas may be taken at lesser intervals. If these readings are taking place without employing the enemas, you can reduce the amount of fruits, and increase the amount of vegetables, or the protein containing foods.

Remember, the fruits are detoxifying fruits. These fruits are not intended to supply the proteins needed in order to rebuild new cells. This is why it is said that we cannot exist on fruits alone. The proteins that are used for rebuilding the cells are contained in the vegetables, and to a limited extent, the animal foods catagories, under the proper circumstances noted earlier in the book.

It is also important to note that all of the fruits listed earlier are low in sugar. They were chosen to eliminate any blood sugar disturbance during this detoxification procedure.
